Looking to buy a used HP Laserjet to print a couple thousand copies per month. What is the best model ever?

Due to getting an answer on a previous question, we've decided we need to buy a used Laserjet for our printing needs. We'll need to also buy a duplexer and envelope feeder for it. There are many models on eBay (Laserjet 4, 4050, etc..). We don't care about the age, but we're just looking to get the most trouble-free unit we can in terms of jams, repairs, etc...

Does one unit stand out among the others in this respect? Price of toner is also a consideration. We don't need color, but duplex printing would be good.

Any opinions from printer repairers or heavy users of several models of HPs would be appreciated.

We have a HP Laser Jet 2200D and it does a great job, I have seen some used offers, cause they do not sell them anymore.

HP offers a new one what was on sale for 299, usual price 399. Check on their site.
Not meaning for this to be the answer, but just to show the ability of the HP series Laser Jet's, I have 3 OLD series II units here. 2 of them have page counters on them, 1 is at 148,000 + pages, 1 is at 867,000 pages. The one that doesn't have the counter is REALLY worn, so I am guessing 3 million or more. The only problem with any of them, and the ones that I have serviced in the past was the paper pickup cam. Other than that, I worked on 1 unit that had 12 million + pages run threw it. The newer ones are not as tough or as heavy as the old Series II's but they are still some of the best there is. Brother makes a FAST unit, but they have some issues with drivers and up time. Hopefully that helps, the only other units I have seen run FOREVER were the IBM units for the AS/400, but they start out at about $30,000 which is not for your tasking price range.
