What you need to do is slean the drum itself with a very soft micro-fiber cloth. Make sure that their is no light hitting the Drum itself as it may damage it. I susually clean it in a dark corner.
Why it leaves a shadow is because their is some toner on the drum itself. After cleaning, close the cover and it should work perfectly.
Do NOT put ANY liquid whatsover on the cloth. Just dry clean it . Period.
