I am working on an HP Laserjet 4600n. The paper gets stuck just coming out of the fuser.?

I am pretty sure I need to replace the fuser. Is there another mechanical issue that should be looked at before the money is spent on the fuser?I am working on an HP Laserjet 4600n. The paper gets stuck just coming out of the fuser.?
Previous poster was right about the problem often involving the rollers. A quick fix: Lightly moisten a paper towel, and wipe the paper dust off the rollers. You don't want to get anything wet. Often this regains some traction and wil get you going.I am working on an HP Laserjet 4600n. The paper gets stuck just coming out of the fuser.?
A common problem with Laser-jet printers with high mileage is poor traction of the rubber rollers. They wear down (actually compress down) a bit and / or become shiny and lose their grip. The best solution is to replace them; kits are available. A rube Goldberg fix is to lightly sand them with a fine sandpaper to improve their friction with the paper. Of course another option is to use it as a boat's anchor and buy a new printer.
