I install a HP Laserjet 1010 Priner on a windows 98 system, after that i share this printer on the network?
and installed it as a netwok printer on all the connected system in the network. All the system on the network having window XP Home, But the printer prints blank pages from some of the connected system while from other system the printer gives print out. ... i am fed up with that problem .. If you have a LJ1020 then you probably have it connected to another machine on the network and shared it through that machine. If you're able to print a test page from the same machine you're using Word/Excel, make sure you added the printer to your printers and faxes and you set it as the default printer (double check it when printing from Word/Excel). Also make sure the computer it's connected to is turned on.

I own several HP Laserjets and setting up your HP laserjet without the HP CD should not be a problem. First I would try disconnecting printer cable and letting your Computer hopefully recognize that a plug n play device %26lt;= Your HP Laserjet has been connected and then see if you still get same error message. Second if that didn't work, I would visit www.HP.com website bec most of printer drivers and updates are available for download and it should be there. Then I would DELETE existing printer in Control Panel and probably REBOOT and then connect your HP laserjet and then follow the instructions where often times at least in Windows XP, all one has to do is designate the manufacturer and model. At worse case, you create a DOWNOAD FOLDER and when you go back to HP website and select the driver, you tell it to save to the DOWNLOAD...

Ok, so bascially, it's printing only on one side (left). the printed/not printex margin in zig zag shaped. and on the side where it doesn't print it's a really faint. I also get really bad paper jams. First few times this happened, it made starnge sounds like there is something suck in there but I looked and felt everywhere where I could stick my hand in, and I found nothing.

It sounds like either there is a jam inside where you can't get to without further disassembling, or else possibly your transfer roller or pickup roller has gone bad. You could buy a kit to replace these rollers if that's the case....about $20.00 - $30.00 if you do it yourself.

You cannot refill the toner cartridge, but you can purchase them in one of two states, refilled or remanufactured. Refilled toner cartridges contain used drums which is a concern. Either way, reliability drops right along with print quality to some degree. How can I re-print a document on an HP-Laserjet? Someone printed a document from my computerbut didn't save it
Click on Start and then on Search. Click on All files and folders. Click on when was it modified. Put a specific date or date range. Click on More advanced options, click on Searc system folders and Search subfolders.Then click on Search. You will have a list of all files created on the or in the date range specified. Look for anything in the Temp directory, there may have been a temp file created during editing of the document. If there isn't anything here, then you are out of luck. I hope this helps.

2. Try to determine whether the error occurs intermittently, while printing, or when turning on the device.

If all other computers, applications, or files can print without the error, then the problem may be only within one print job or computer. Make sure the computer has the most current printer drivers, or use a generic printer driver.
4. Go to www.hp.com/support/LJP3005. Click Download Drivers and Software. Check for the latest firmware image version at the bottom of the page. If this firmware image is newer than the one installed on the device and the device can receive a firmware update, download the newer firmware upgrade.
5. Try printing a job from a different software program. If the job prints, go back to the first program and try printing a different file. If the message appears only with a certain software program or print job, contact the software vendor for assistance.
6. If the message persists, contact HP Support.
As for your jam errors, check to make sure your paper tray is physically set correctly for the size of paper you have loaded. If the physical guide stops are not set correctly it can cause intermittent jam errors. You may also have a worn or dirty pickup/feed roller or possible a damaged roller drive shaft. I would recommend cleaning the roller, but unless you know how to remove it correctly to clean it, it would be best to leave it alone or have someone who knows how to do it for you. You can make things worse if you're not familiar with how to do it properly. Make sure to fan the paper in the paper tray a couple of times to help remove/reduce any static buildup in the paper, or replace the paper with fresh, clean paper. There are many things that can cause paper jams like that %26amp; it is hard to determine without actually seeing the printer.

look in yellow pages for recycleed pcs and parts, or donate it. then you can get your money back at the end of the year.
I think it is worthless. I have one and it is sitting on a shelf waiting for me to donate to local Computer User Group. I have always used HP printers since the beginning so I bought another - the 3100. It has many many less software problems. And it hasn't broken. Yet.

Laser printers have a standard DPI, you can switch to an econo mode which will drop the quality however you will still be printing at 600 DPI, just using less toner.

Can you describe the noises?
If it sounds like something whines in upward pitch, then stops or you don't even have THAT sound, that's the internal transformer trying to warm up the fuser. If that's not happening, the fuser module is dead, and printer's worthless.
If you hear a bit of click/clack sound and the paper looks like it's trying to feed, but does not, you have a paper feeding / separator problem. Check fixyourownprinter.com and see if they have repair kits for that, or even search on eBay.
